Import history and error reports
Imports run as jobs. This page explains how to read import history, how to know an import really finished, and what to do when rows fail.
At a glance
- Import history shows every CSV import job and its status.
- Import detail pages show progress, counts, and a preview of errors.
- If there are row-level failures, you can download an error report.
How to read import status
Operators should think in three states:
- In progress: still processing; don’t assume contacts are ready.
- Completed: safe to use contacts in segments and campaigns.
- Failed: treat as an incident; fix the CSV and re-run.
Error previews vs error reports
- Error preview is for fast triage.
- Error report is for bulk fixes (download, correct, re-import).
What to do when an import fails
- Open the import detail page and read the last error.
- Download the error report.
- Fix the CSV (not just one contact).
- Re-import and verify with a small sample.
Next: turn imports into segments
Use filters and segments to make your imported list reusable in campaigns.
